2 BETTE MIDLER CONTINENTAL BATHS PERFORMANCE DRESS

A 1940s, long sleeve dress in mauve crepe with side zip closure, deep v-neck and foliate sequin embellish- ment to sleeves. Interior handwritten label reads “D. Truman 36 1/2-26-38 Model.” Midler wore this dress at the beginning of her career while performing at the Continental Baths in New York City. Early footage from 1971 shows Midler wearing this dress as she performs “Easier Said Than Done” and “I Shall Be Released” among other songs. $600-800
